Slatted Chain Link Fence: Western vs Privacy Plus, Colors, and Cost
Western slats cover about 80 percent of the view and Privacy Plus about 90 to 95 percent. A 6-foot chain link fence with slats runs about $59 to $67 a foot installed.

A 6-foot chain link fence with slats runs about $59 to $67 a foot installed, and an 8-foot fence runs about $60 to $85 a foot. We install two types of slats, Western and Privacy Plus, in standard colors or a custom color.
Western and Privacy Plus
There are more types of slatted chain link on the market, and each vendor gives them its own names. These are the two we offer, by the names our supplier uses:
| Slat | View blocked |
|---|---|
| Western | About 80 percent |
| Privacy Plus | About 90 to 95 percent |

Neither type closes the view completely; a fence of solid steel sheet or corrugated panels does.
Colors
Slats come in white, brown, black, green, red, beige, and blue. A custom color can also be made but it costs more.

What it costs
The price of a slatted chain link fence depends on its height, the fabric, and the type of slat. A taller fence takes more fabric and more slats for every foot of fence, and a heavier fabric gauge.
| The work | Installed |
|---|---|
| 6-foot chain link with slats | $59 to $67 a foot |
| 8-foot chain link with slats | $60 to $85 a foot |
A run under about 100 feet costs more per foot.
