Galvanized fabric is silver and costs less than vinyl-coated.
Vinyl-coated
Vinyl-coated fabric is PVC over galvanized wire, in black, green, or another color the vendor carries.
Western slats cover about 80 percent of the view, and Privacy Plus slats about 90 to 95 percent. Slats come in white, brown, black, green, red, beige, and blue, and a custom color costs more. On top, barbed wire runs three strands on arms, and razor wire goes on top of the barbed wire.

How much does commercial chain link cost in Sacramento?
How many feet, how tall, what goes on top, and how many gates set the number. Plain 6-foot commercial runs about $55 to $70 a foot installed. A 6-foot fence with slats runs about $59 to $67 a foot, and three-strand barbed wire adds about $4 to $8. Eight-foot work with slats, barbed wire and the gates inside the run comes to about $88 to $105 a foot.
Why is a short fence more per foot?
The truck, the setup, and the trip cost the same on 60 feet as on 600, so on a short run they carry most of the number. Under about 100 feet, chain link lands at $150 to $245 a foot.
Galvanized or vinyl-coated chain link, which one fits?
Galvanized is the standard silver finish and the lower cost. Vinyl-coated costs more and comes in black, green, and other colors.
Can you make chain link private?
Yes. Privacy Plus slats block more of the view than Western slats, about 90 to 95 percent.
How deep do the posts go?
About 2 feet on a 6-foot fence, and usually 2 to 3 feet on a 7 or 8-foot fence.
What framework and posts do you use?
The posts are galvanized steel pipe, 2-1/2 inches and up on a 7 or 8-foot fence. The frame can be tension wire top and bottom, a top rail with tension wire at the bottom, top and bottom rail, or top, mid, and bottom rail, which is the strongest.
Do you install barbed wire and razor wire?
Yes. We put three strands of barbed wire on arms at the top, with razor wire above them.
Chain link or iron?
Iron costs more, mostly $70 to $90 a foot at 6 feet tall, and the budget, security, and look of the property decide between the two.
Do you repair chain link fence?
Yes. We fix torn or sagging mesh, bent top rails, and broken posts, and most fence repairs run $800 to $3,000.
