Silver, and the lower cost of the two. Commercial fabric is galvanized heavier than residential, Class 2 zinc instead of Class 1.
Vinyl-coated
Black or green PVC over galvanized, or a custom color, for a cleaner look against a building and more corrosion resistance.
Slats come two ways. Standard slats leave gaps between them and cut the view without closing it. Privacy plus sits tighter and covers almost all of it, in a color that matches the fence. On top, barbed wire runs three strands on arms and adds about a foot of height, and razor ribbon goes above barbed wire that is already there, where local code allows it.

How much does commercial chain link cost in Sacramento?
How many feet, how tall, what goes on top, and how many gates set the number. Plain 6-foot commercial runs about $55 to $70 a foot installed. Privacy slats add about $6 to $14 a foot, and three-strand barbed wire about $4 to $8. Eight-foot work with slats, barbed wire and the gates inside the run comes to about $88 to $105 a foot. Send the length and height and we will price it.
Why is a short fence more per foot?
The gate and the trip cost the same on 60 feet as on 600, so on a short run they carry most of the number. Under about 100 feet, chain link lands at $150 to $245 a foot.
Galvanized or vinyl-coated chain link, which one fits?
Galvanized is the standard silver finish and the lower cost. Vinyl-coated, black or green over galvanized, looks cleaner against a building and adds corrosion resistance, so it shows up where appearance matters or the air is industrial.
Can you make chain link private?
Yes, with slats woven through the mesh. Standard slats leave gaps and cut the view without closing it. Privacy plus slats sit tighter and cover almost all of it, in a color that matches the fence.
How deep do the posts go?
About 2 feet on a 6-foot fence. Heavy duty and industrial work goes 3 to 4 feet, and a fence carrying privacy slats needs more, because slats catch wind and the line pulls on the posts.
What framework and posts do you use?
Schedule 40 or SS40 galvanized pipe, sized to the height and the wind load. A top rail keeps the fabric from sagging, and taller or more secure runs get a mid rail or a bottom tension wire.
Do you install barbed wire and razor ribbon?
Yes. Barbed wire runs three strands on arms above the fabric and adds about a foot of height. Razor ribbon goes on top of barbed wire that is already there, where local code allows it.
Chain link or iron?
Chain link is the lowest cost per foot we install. Iron costs more and goes where the fence is seen from the street, so budget, security and how you want the property to look decide it. Our commercial fencing page puts the two side by side.
Can you fence a construction site?
Yes. Perimeter chain link on an active job site is one of the most common jobs we run.
